Description
The Newton Fieldhouse project features a durable and efficiently executed pre-cast construction system, designed to support high-traffic recreational use. Pre-cast panels were fabricated off-site in Chilliwack and transported to the site, where they were precisely installed by crane—ensuring quality control and expedited construction.
The building is topped with a high-performance TPO roofing system, complemented by metal cladding along the upper perimeter, providing both weather protection and a clean, modern finish.
Programmatically, the facility includes four fully equipped changing rooms, each with integrated showers and toilet facilities, along with two accessible washrooms to ensure inclusivity. These amenities are thoughtfully arranged within a secure, gated breezeway for controlled access and user safety. Surrounding the structure, extensive concrete sidewalks were installed to provide seamless connectivity to the adjacent running track and soccer fields, enhancing overall site accessibility and user flow.
The result is a robust, functional, and community-focused facility built to accommodate athletic activity while delivering long-term durability and ease of maintenance.
